Romain de Tirtoff was a Russian-born French artist and designer known by the pseudonym Erte, the french pronunciation of his initials, R.T. He was a diversely-talented 20th centruy artist and designer who flourished in the array of fields, including fashion, jeweler y, graphic arts, costume and set design for film, theater, and opera and interior decor.

One of my friends did a study of Erte’s “The Swing” and it was the first time I was introduced to his work. I was so excited when I found out they make calendars with his prints. I’m collecting them and framing all my favorites.
